We are heading to Pumpkin Valley Farm in Dayton to do the corn maze and pick pumpkins. You can sign your child up for these adventures on our website, $45 for teacher in-service days. Public safety fair, Saturday, October 3rd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Municipal Complex. Bring your family down for a touch of truck, face painting, demonstrations and lunch. Learn about how your Fire Department, Animal Control Officer, Public Works Department and Rec Department serve our town every day. Transfer station hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesdays 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. A transfer station sticker must be attached to your vehicle's windshield for the disposal of all items. Transfer station stickers are available at the town's office for twenty dollars. No sticker is required to use the swap shop. The transfer station does not accept brush, yard clippings, or hazardous waste. Riverside recycling in Portland takes the hazardous waste. A friendly reminder to all residents, the building waste, furniture, and mattresses should not be left at curbside. We have a transfer station for those and I will add to that TVs, computers, and tires, which they're starting to pop up in some of these locations. One of them being the end of my road is having issues, so we'll TV's, tires, and electronics. Yeah, the people are putting out printers and TVs and it's all stuff that should be taken to the transfer station. Residents who recycle at the transfer station can have their name entered into the monthly raffle. Don't forget to ask for your ticket.
