Speakers labeled via automated voice-based diarization + AI name-matching against the city's official roster. Automated transcription can still mis-hear a name during fast speech (e.g. a rapid roll-call vote) -- clear near-misses are auto-corrected, but this is not manually verified line-by-line. Treat names as a strong best guess, not an official record.
[2:13] Jennifer Snow: Can you email this person? Yes, I'm excited. I can, I did, just, you know, I just created it, but I will, I can email it here before we leave. Yeah, so maybe we can start with the nominees.
[2:30] Speaker B (unidentified): That's West Coast. Nice Mexican. Trying to blow that up a little bit.
[2:35] Jennifer Snow: I don't know how to read this. People see that, okay.
[2:39] Speaker B (unidentified): Sam Bullard deserves it.
[2:41] Jennifer Snow: So two lists of nominee, you know, nominee, nominees, and the number of times they were entered. Mariah apparently had 10 people passionate about her. Last year that was some theater company and they had nine or 10.
[2:53] Speaker C (unidentified): St. John's, Oregon. So they have the Oregon Concert Center. I don't know if any of you guys have ever been in there, but it's absolutely gorgeous. And the acoustics are amazing. Thank you so much. And it's beautiful.
[3:05] Speaker D (unidentified): Yeah, he's a lot of people.
[3:10] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, so just give him a very moment just for fun.
[3:13] Speaker C (unidentified): Cities to take a look. Chris Packard is behind that, the book thing, the authors. Yeah, the author's parent. Yeah, I try to go every year. It's really, I can't all.
[3:30] Jennifer Snow: Right, everyone had a good chance to just take a peek at that. I can email it out, please, soon. So one thing I'm hoping you can give a head start on is just I need to verify all these people either live in Bangor or produce their art at least at some level in Bangor. Does anyone, do you want to go through the list and just talk about it? I mean, like, I don't want people to have to go through research. I can do that afterwards, right? I don't, like, if somebody can, like, give an affirmative on somebody, you. Know, like.
[4:02] Speaker C (unidentified): Like, Travis Bain, he's, he was hockey coach and all that here in the area, and he's a.
[4:12] Jennifer Snow: Writer. So I don't know if he lives in Bangor or works again. Well, that wasn't a good example. So, like, St. John's, Oregon, we can say affirmative, like, it is in Bang. That is undisputable. So, yeah, there's.
[4:24] Speaker B (unidentified): Something that we just absolutely know are yes. Brian Cattell is definitely yes. [Jennifer Snow: So Cattell.] Holly Adams definitely, we know Holly. Hope I definitely yes. Yeah. Josh Westoak definitely yes. Matt King definitely yes. Sam Bullard yes.
[4:51] Speaker E (unidentified): Mariah Reading and Liam Reading both are working in the area and.
[5:00] Jennifer Snow: Mariah did one of the murals for one of the restrooms, right, so.
[5:06] Speaker C (unidentified): This says the.
[5:12] Speaker E (unidentified): Murals from the Together Place, right, Union Street. Oh, they didn't see.
[5:19] Speaker C (unidentified): That he was nominated, so that's been, you know, Travis or lives in Orno, but he says he works for North Scott Theater Company, Watch Me Shine. Is that in Bangor? I think that's in Bangor as MedTech. So this is just from his social, so. I thought it was Bangor and Ellsworth. Yeah. Watch Me Shine? Yeah, it's for like special needs kids. Yeah. So the requirement is to either
[5:47] Jennifer Snow: live in Bangor or produce art in Bangor or work in Bangor. Yeah. Like I work in Bangor. Yeah,
[5:52] Speaker C (unidentified): the their address has been, you know what I mean, for Gilman Road. Well, let's, I mean, does anyone
[6:00] Jennifer Snow: remember we can maybe look back and see what the requirement is like live in bangalore yeah so work i always assume work meant like you're producing art in bangor like this award like you know like what so let's say you live in orno you have a day job in bangor and you produce to play in Millinocket, I would do that as not eligible. But maybe I'm misreading that.
[6:24] Speaker E (unidentified): Now didn't he do a play? I think it's a little vague. It's always been vague.
[6:30] Speaker C (unidentified): He did the play, the hockey play at Penobscot, the other company, a couple of years back. Yeah,.
[6:38] Jennifer Snow: And PTC produced three-week plays, but not for five years. Okay. Right? And I'm not trying to dominate the conversation. No,, no. Not at all. That's all I know.
[6:51] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah. So would it be, I mean, if he works daily in Bangor, is it the same as producing art? Yeah. That's a good question. And since it's an art of word, like, and what is like producing?
[7:04] Speaker F (unidentified): So if he's, he's a playwright, right? So if he's doing that at his home, right, like, does he need to be in Bangor somewhere more reading and writing. Even my own writing would be in, you know, in Bangor at that step
[7:23] Speaker C (unidentified): together. Yeah, I don't know. I always thought it was just work for the Bangor, but the making art in Bangor makes sense since we're giving the award for somebody who's influencing, you know, the art here, the whole, you know, whatever type of media it is here in Bangor. Like, I don't know. I think in the past it was just that they worked, am I correct, how, and no, it's always been vague
[7:51] Speaker E (unidentified): it's always like we always have this conversation everywhere, where's the line, and it's it's really only an issue at the very end if it's the person or persons are seriously considering, right, you know, we don't really have to worry about somebody who's, you know, mix of guitarists in the land. They don't perform in Bangor, or live in Bangor. I just threw that one, I just, it just came to me.
[8:23] Speaker C (unidentified): No, I was saying, just another example.
[8:25] Speaker E (unidentified): I don't have guitar makers at all. But I was trying to think of something other than painters, or artists, because, you know, musicians, actors.
[8:35] Speaker C (unidentified): Well that is how strange I know because you like you were saying you could be a musician and live in Vancouver and never play a single show here but are you still qualified you know
[8:45] Speaker D (unidentified): What I mean that's the other side right that's just like you are saying are you affecting the
[8:52] Speaker B (unidentified): arts anything right the bigger question I don't know so and maybe it is better that we discussed it becomes a discussion once the judging becomes available.
[9:07] Speaker C (unidentified): And maybe put it more solid for next year or so.
[9:11] Speaker B (unidentified): Well, it's literal work in Bangor, right? Literal work.
[9:15] Speaker D (unidentified): The language. I don't know,
[9:20] Jennifer Snow: I mean, I perceive it as artistic work in Bangor. Or maybe we should and I think we should probably determine that prior to sending people to the committee really okay I wouldn't think so I mean it's just to decide who won yeah you know but that's just again it's just an opinion I know I try to I'm wondering about what five right so anyone want to make enough so yeah I mean I just argued that I don't know I think the optics of giving an award to somebody you know they don't you know they don't live in Bangor they haven't done any art in Bangor Like what did you do win the 2026 award you know
[10:10] Speaker C (unidentified): My lifetime achievement award yeah I agree with that because but I mean it's not a Comscott County award right it's not a City of Bangor award and we're acting on behalf of
[10:25] Speaker D (unidentified): the city so I mean you have a point with that okay so what where do we go from here how do we
[10:33] Jennifer Snow: How about well does anyone want to make a case like the devil's advocate case to my position I mean anyone want to make a case for you know like a group discussion for no you should include people that you know yeah I mean I'd have a hard time being up on the you know yeah the mic saying congratulations you don't have a problem congratulations you know like somebody's
[10:55] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, there's a lot of people on the list who are doing a lot of stuff too.
[10:59] Jennifer Snow: There are, right. Okay, I don't want to rush it, but does anyone want to make a counter argument to that position?
[11:07] Speaker E (unidentified): Well, it's not if we split it up, which is what we've done in the past, and everybody take a few names and confirm those names as people who have significant connection to Bangor and the arts. And then the bottom line is we don't give the award unless we really have to triple check that person and make sure that person is eligible.
[11:42] Jennifer Snow: That's a very good process, and so in terms of eligibility, we want to move people out that don't either live here or have produced art in 2026.
[11:51] Speaker B (unidentified): Specifically on the list currently, you would not allow me, I would advocate for that.
[11:55] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, you put the list back up. Yeah, listen, okay, you know, I just thought like I said, you know, not that it would be this way, but I always like to put myself in a different situation, so like a Bangor, you know, you know, we'll pick on Travis Baker, you know, if where did that go, that's the problem having 800 tabs, you know, so the Banger down here says Sunny, why, how did you guys call us around Travis Baker, so he's great, he said three plays of Bangor none in the last five years, you know, that doesn't like pass kind of a straight face test to me. And likely they'd get ruled out and not like in the vetting process, but we might be able to do the jurors a favor by saying-
[12:40] Speaker B (unidentified): St. John's Organ Society. Where's St. John's?
[12:44] Speaker C (unidentified): St. John's is on the east side. It's on the block I live on. Yeah, Overture's the hospital and they do weekly. Well, it's certain times a year they do this. Right now they are Thursday nights because there's a lot of traffic going in and out. They also have musicians come from like France and stuff to come and perform there, so they have like an exchange program going, like it's really cool what
[13:08] Speaker B (unidentified): they do. I don't know anybody to cross off per se, like I can vouch for a few people, but I can't say anybody isn't well, so before looking at the list I
[13:17] Jennifer Snow: mean, do we, is anyone gonna make a counter argument to the physician, either you live in Bangor or you start in Bangor and decide to play six, okay, do you want to put it to a low then, I mean, are we okay with that parameter? Yes. Okay, all right. So, you know, that'll take a little bit of work to vet out, and we don't need to do that ourselves today, but we should.
[13:40] Speaker E (unidentified): You shouldn't have to do it all. We should split it up. I agree.
[13:44] Jennifer Snow: Yeah. Right. So we have, what, one, two? Adam and Adam are the same, I think, so. They're like 19, so we all have like four names. Okay, that's good, and so the job will be do they, do you know, check up, check a box, do they live in Benning or yes or no, or you know, they've done anything artistic, yeah, and when in doubt, I mean, throw them in, right, you know, you want to feel pretty definitive about it, but it's
[14:22] Speaker E (unidentified): sort of easier if you know people who know the people rather than knock on their door and say yeah, do you live here
[14:31] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, I mean, you know, we can look at the nominating stage and give us, you know, that'll give you some information.
[14:37] Speaker C (unidentified): Social media a lot. Last year I did that because there were some that I had no idea. I've never heard of. Check, you know, Facebook, Instagram, or even Google. Sometimes you can feel somebody has a web page that there aren't. All
[14:56] Jennifer Snow: right. So what I'll do is we'll just go alpha by our last names and, you know, whoever I think C is maybe first on the list. Yeah, so I take the first four or five and then we'll just go that way. We just round robin about, I guess, no time, Michael, president, to do that. So we got 20 names, we got five, so before we should I have the first four through Bangor Contraband? Yeah, but I can vouch for it here it
[15:23] Speaker B (unidentified): is. Yeah, so we can just cross them off for us now. Okay, not a bad idea. Okay.
[15:32] Jennifer Snow: Okay, so Adam Vasquez, can someone vote for them in this call now? Okay. Bangor Community Theater, yes, right. Bangor Contradaz, Bangor Historicals. All those Bangors are good. Ben Getchell, Benjamin Getchell?
[15:45] Speaker B (unidentified): Brian Vitale, yes, definitely.
[15:53] Jennifer Snow: Chris Packard, yes. Claire Sullivan. Claire Sullivan. Where are we at the vet downtown Holly Hope? We know Josh Westcote. Yeah, I know Josh. Yes. Wednesday he works in bizarre thing. Liam, we know Liam's done this.
[16:16] Speaker E (unidentified): Is this is a hard one because he's definitely has ties to the area and he's done some murals in the area but
[16:24] Jennifer Snow: I don't know. So William will vet Matt King. Matt King is in the area, good. Mariah will say yes on, we know she did a project here recently. Sam, you said yes. Sam, yes, definitely. Scott,
[16:38] Speaker B (unidentified): I'm just wondering where I can place it about
[16:42] Jennifer Snow: Scott St. John's, yes. Travis, unlike possible, but we have to find out. Tori, really, did anyone, I'm connecting with them on
[16:52] Speaker B (unidentified): on Instagram, I think that they're, I think I can vouch for them, but I'm not entirely sure, so let's just vouch it, let's just bet them. I'm
[17:00] Speaker F (unidentified): faithful friends with Travis Baker, I can see what he's
[17:04] Jennifer Snow: doing. Yeah, and let's just take a quick peek at their nomination since we have time. I don't think we have an awful lot, you know, I've asked this, so Adam will he write a nice statement and
[17:18] Speaker C (unidentified): something to think about. I know this is kind of kind of stick it in there, but if Travis is a writer and he's working with special needs kids in Bangor, how do we know he's not offering art programming at this preschool? You know what I mean? So it's like, yeah, so that's, do you know what I'm saying? So unless this shows up in the better, right, I think he stopped.
[18:00] Jennifer Snow: So this Instagram account looks like it goes to Adam, even though the nomination was for
[18:09] Speaker B (unidentified): At them. Oh wait, I know this person. No, they're not cool. But no, they're literally part of extracting them from like the group that I'm in. They're like, they're like, they might make women uncomfortable, and they were talking about me yesterday while they were like in my house, oh, like texting their friends and stuff. Yeah, yes, but aside from that, I think he wrote it himself, because he's an artist, and there's a lot of, he is, but the rest of it can be notes for the jurors. Yeah, but he's not cool. Oh, I'm good at that. I just, I'm just flabbergasted.
[18:53] Jennifer Snow: Ben Getchell, do we know? We don't know anything there. So I'll bet Ben Getchell. Okay. Claire.
[19:09] Speaker E (unidentified): Wait a minute. Claire is the mom.
[19:13] Speaker B (unidentified): Oh, it's another nomination for Mariah. That's Mariah's mom. Okay. So that person is nominated. Mariah is just being nominated. So Claire must have put her own name.
[19:29] Jennifer Snow: In the wrong field. Yeah, there we go. Let's still have to figure out. Well, it might not have been, you know, I mean, the person nominated isn't always. Yeah, so
[19:45] Speaker B (unidentified): You're not amazing, Eddie O'Leary. If you don't know Popeye, she's an amazing person, she's, you know
[20:06] Jennifer Snow: I don't think I should know whether Liam's done anything in Bangor recently. He said he's a tattoo artist, but he's not being nominated. That's it. Yeah, it says
[20:15] Speaker E (unidentified): For the murals that together this business is in Brewer. Oh, okay. Oh, we might just as a tattoo artist
[20:25] Speaker B (unidentified): That's in Brewer, that comes to you, Brewer. But I mean, he has done murals in Bangor, but in this past year, no, I don't think so. What's John? It's a problem. I can, you can, if you can present a case, lighting designer. Oh, is he the lighting designer
[21:10] Jennifer Snow: Okay, so we did the holiday tree light show last year, so that's good. Is Watch Me Shine in Bangor?
[21:33] Speaker C (unidentified): Yes, I looked it up. So it seems like he's doing educational art for the curriculum for the pre-K students with special needs. That's exactly what I was saying. Like, if he's not, I mean, you have ed techs that work with kids with disabilities, but if he's actually teaching them art or using his art to help these kids, that's, I think that's really important.
[21:57] Jennifer Snow: Yeah. Well, plus, I mean, there's a mural, so. Yeah. Yeah, and then Victoria. Alright, so I have to bet Ben Getchell
[22:22] Speaker D (unidentified): And that's it?
[22:24] Speaker B (unidentified): Are we betting everybody else?
[22:26] Speaker C (unidentified): The Getchell name is the ice, right? So I know they're local, but
[22:32] Speaker D (unidentified): That's all I'm saying
[22:33] Jennifer Snow: Well, it's the same family
[22:37] Speaker C (unidentified): It's not necessarily later. Sure, this is the same one. I don't know, it could be a proper. Is the father then, or is the son then? This one says he's a multi-unit manager, you know. I just need some thunder in 36. Because
[23:12] Jennifer Snow: I trust the community. I'm gonna show my inbox live streaming the inbox live in my inbox too.
[23:20] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah, that's a good one. It's one that does digital marketing for Samba's or how you say them, orienting couple photography awareness for men's mental health. Okay, this started in 2013. [Speaker D (unidentified): McGetchell's, you] say he was taking pictures for men's mental health. This is the right [Speaker D (unidentified): film and photography.] Film and digital photography located in Maine, but I don't know the name of it.
[24:07] Speaker G (unidentified): Also, we're looking at chair responsibility. You guys know that the Arttober banners, the new ones, were printed. Yay! And I saw your photo online, and I sent it to Hollywood and State Public Works, so they should be getting it.
[24:18] Speaker B (unidentified): Oh, great. I'm excited. The size of the poster. The pulpit. Yeah.
[24:23] Speaker C (unidentified): It's nice. Yeah. Yeah, I'm looking to see if he lives in Glenburn. I'm seeing Glenburn. He lives in Glenburn. He's a photographer. No, another one says he lives in
[24:37] Speaker D (unidentified): I don't know. I'll reach out to the
[24:40] Jennifer Snow: nominee and find out. I mean, kind of like the person who nominated him. But he is a photographer. It's only one name. I was going to swap the alphabet. There you go. Alright, great. So that's good to know from Kaylee. Moving on to that, it's a new Artober banner. What do they call them, pole banners? Yes, not
[24:59] Speaker B (unidentified): because they go on street poles, but because they're literally resting on these kind of poles.
[25:03] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah, and you've seen these. I saw that from the city that are the thing you had your logo over top of, like the downtown bank. I haven't even seen that yet. Yes. No, it was through the city's Arctober, so I took that, yes.
[25:25] Jennifer Snow: Like Facebook or something? Yes,
[25:31] Speaker C (unidentified): right here, City of Bangor Arctober, and they changed their logo to their logo.
[25:38] Speaker B (unidentified): Oh, for Facebook? Yes. Oh, I made those designs. They asked for them. Yes, that's what I was saying.
[25:43] Speaker C (unidentified): I didn't know it was Facebook. I don't use Facebook. Oh, I like that. Yeah. I don't use Facebook, so it combines his design and the one that, yeah, super, so
[26:00] Jennifer Snow: it's kind of gets us into our next level of things, which are, and I don't know how much we want to tackle of this the last minute unless we have people that have capacity and the skill set for it, but Betsy, you know, from Downtown Bengal Partnership, has a lot of opportunities for us to get things. I'm good at it, but
[26:25] Speaker B (unidentified): I don't know if I've necessarily have the time to, yeah, I've already seen this list and I thought better of making all the things on it. I made some of the things, but I, it's just, it's a lot and there's stuff I don't even know the answer to that I have to like find out and then create the graphic around it once I found that, right? I don't necessarily have time, so I don't know, I don't, yeah, it's not, and it's free, so.
[26:54] Jennifer Snow: I guess that, you know, without going through the list, I'm too much, you know, you need somebody who's good at creating graphic online content and they don't get it, and then.
[27:01] Speaker C (unidentified): Manage a few different sites. What we did last year for the event, we had actually made an event on Facebook for the, so that would like suffice for that. Yeah, we can do that, but I mean, I guess.
[27:14] Jennifer Snow: Like the broader question is, do we have someone with the skill set and willing to take it on? Then as a skill set, I have the time, so we can get a few very basic.
[27:51] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah, I can email them with the date and time of the event and stuff, so they'll have that. I don't have to go in there and stuff and add it, but I'll make sure that they know the date and time.
[28:03] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, I had coffee with her last week or two weeks ago, and I'll check in with her. I think this all came out of the coffee we had, which wasn't about Hartogel really, but that's great. She's like, all right, there's like 10 things we can do. Yeah, that's great. I mean, to her point, though, I mean, if we can, you know, in the summer meetings this year, we didn't do a lot of, we're doing those kinds of things in the summer. Yeah, we could push on a lot more.
[28:34] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah, and the last thing she wrote on there is something that since I've been on the committee for three years that we've been struggling with is that somebody has the admin, all the admins, some of our Facebook accounts so nobody can get into it. Holly was trying to get into it at one point, or she may have had it for the commission, for the whole commission, Facebook to access, to go in there and change things. And you know what I mean, so I as far as I know, but I think Holly at one time may have had those passwords from the last person, but it looks like I don't remember Julia, so that was waiting for my time, so that was at least three years ago. I don't know if she was before your time. Yeah, I don't remember her, so it's been at least three years, so that would be good because then things like this we wouldn't have, you know what I mean, we could help city staff do that or one of us could be assigned to do. Stuff like that, like that, to make things easier, but it should be somebody
[29:36] Speaker E (unidentified): hired by the city and not committing to the actual change in order because of longevity, because you want to be able to make sure things are okay. That's where they're saying all that, right?
[29:51] Speaker C (unidentified): You could bring that to Ann to find out the role about doing the mail. So somebody had access in the committee and in the subcommittees.
[30:02] Speaker F (unidentified): You know what I mean?
[30:04] Speaker E (unidentified): But it's also true if, as committee members, if we had an email sent to us that had the information in the flyer, everything's mailed it out to our contact. That's right, yeah. And like I said, as soon as I saw this
[30:23] Speaker C (unidentified): I tried to share this many banger groups that I knew of that I'm members of. So anything like that I see, it's like, okay, yeah, that's pertinent, make sure. But I don't, you know how many people are in those banger area groups, but I figured it's more people than I know. So, I
[30:44] Jennifer Snow: mean, there's kind of two or three different components of what Betsy was encouraging us to do. Some of it's going to be hard to do, a lot of it. But one is just come up with a basic, you know, single graphic that announces our program in more detail. And so, you know, we can do that. I can do that. Nina can help a little bit. But, you know, second is to try to find an online way to promote different events that are going on. It feels to me like, you know, at the last second year we're not going to have the capacity to, you know, be able to, you know, gather the names of events, get the content from those organizations, and then push it out to that city.
[31:30] Speaker C (unidentified): And I don't know if that's our place. You know, it's one thing for our event to ask them to help publicize that, but it's really not, I mean, it is, it our place to push out events that are happening all over the city. I know we had talked extensively about faculty calendar made up in print for people that couldn't see this kind of stuff online, but there's multiple different online already with events, you know what I mean? So it's, I don't know if that's like part of what we should be doing, or I don't know, you know, it's just a question.
[32:03] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, we can ask next year if that, you know, we can ask ourselves next year.
[32:07] Speaker C (unidentified): It would be good if we could collaborate with them like that, because they already have an existing event calendar on.
[32:14] Speaker E (unidentified): But maybe it is more their role than our role. Yeah. But it's our role. Right. I mean, I don't think our role is necessarily all about publicity.
[32:25] Speaker C (unidentified): Right. They're more marketing, that's what they are, you know. And they've already done a
[32:31] Speaker E (unidentified): lot, so yeah, well, you know, their limited resources, right? And I think collaboration
[32:41] Speaker C (unidentified): is always welcome. It's just where do we draw, you know, where does the city, like our part as a city, like what are we even allowed to do? But I think Nina would be a good one to talk to about that because she thought that was kind of her
[32:52] Jennifer Snow: baby she really wanted. Yeah, I mean, you know, Betsy's off, the thought was we could, you know, put out a call for, you know, let us know what your events are, send us, you know, this, that, the other thing, and then she can post it and promote it. Yeah, so we could put a call up for that for October in the future. I mean, it's not an unreasonable thing, but we, but maybe there's reasons we don't want to do that, so we can, we can bet that all next year, but we're paying off the payment this year. Do it well, so we publicize our van, publicize our tober, but there's another piece, like the old-fashioned way of doing things we have the right to do, meaning like, you know, the, has everyone seen the kiosks in Pickering Square? They're, you know, they're designated for our team. We haven't done anything as a committee with them yet. Man said we could use them to promote our trope, so you know, if we could get the posters, even though posters are not that size, for any arts events in October, we can put them in the kiosks.
[33:58] Speaker B (unidentified): How do we get access to those kiosks? Do we have to go to Betsy or the parking garage? Because I have First Friday flags that go there too.
[34:05] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, I mean, so this is going to be a one time thing for October, I think. And then after that, it's going to be, hey, the middle school art program is displaying art for three months. Got it, or even the committee's going to figure that out, but it's not always going to be used as like a first priority, but I mean, it can for October, like since it's not being used yet
[34:24] Speaker C (unidentified): I think definitely talk about this. Isn't it public works that would have to let us into those
[34:29] Speaker G (unidentified): I think our department is able to. You are okay, we'll probably work with public works for a good
[34:35] Jennifer Snow: time to get the keys. Yeah, so I mean, the task is on us if we want a pamphlet to put a call out of, you know, ourselves to go out and say, hey, you know, like easy for Sarah and go to PTC and say give us the October show flyer, PSO saying First Friday, First Friday flyers. Yeah, is everybody good with trying to tackle that, like trying to, does a committee get as much as we can
[34:59] Speaker C (unidentified): and should we have something printed with our event to put it there too
[35:06] Speaker F (unidentified): Or is that part of our budget?
[35:11] Speaker G (unidentified): If we're just thinking like typical.
[35:13] Jennifer Snow: So if we are eventing any other events, we can put a call out. Nina gave us, gave me our Facebook page blog and stuff. It's not what I was asking for, but I think the message was, yeah, do it yourself.
[35:27] Speaker B (unidentified): So we can put a call out for that kind of thing.
[35:30] Jennifer Snow: It might be better in addition to that we all try to gather those ourselves for those that have capacity you know or it's easy for right I mean I can think of three organizations I can easily say give me folks for profit over yeah people willing to do some of that okay well good so let's I mean so a call to action process if you know people you can gather those or you know send them by emails and get these to sonny like the promote in the new kiosks your events in october and then i've you know. I've been given committee dan you're downtown too so you know we can just connect and connect with you and what's we're having to start getting i hope it's just so we can get you know get a lot there's three or four of us and they're double-sided and they're probably oh you know each one's probably like that big kind of thing you know what i mean.
[36:42] Speaker G (unidentified): Behind glass so are you kind of envisioning using it as like a bulletin board?
[36:49] Jennifer Snow: For this type of month for october yeah i just did as many posters for things that are going on as possible i've got six of those you know something you could probably do 30 events and if you only have four it's gonna look pretty tough it's really my concern.
[37:09] Speaker E (unidentified): Well we have to think about that though i mean we don't want it too unbeaty so we can put some art in there or something too though well that's what i'm wondering do we have enough time to sort of organize in our thing too but.
[37:31] Jennifer Snow: It's almost conditional on how many posters you get those yeah 60 posters you have no art i have a suggestion if the nominees want.
[37:39] Speaker C (unidentified): Me to put that something up there is in there you know for one of the trainings like here's our art awards you know event is this night and i mean to just send a long not something done artwork but just a print of something to throw in there like hey i'm nominated for this thing here's my article i don't just an idea we may not have time to do that this year but well.
[38:03] Speaker E (unidentified): Because you have to organize when true and if it's a right yeah true yeah all right correct that 's an idea true yeah okay there's just a lot of incidentals that we have.
[38:20] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, I don't think we have time for that. No, I just get as many things advertising art proper opportunities for the city, get those in there, and if we have to plan out a few.
[38:34] Speaker E (unidentified): I would suggest getting two copies of whatever anybody is offering you in order to fill it out, because you can always leave one out. Definitely.
[38:47] Speaker G (unidentified): And we have our upcoming VisionWide meeting next Friday, right? So that would be a good time if we have any ready by then.
[38:57] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, that would be a great award. What day is it? That's actually the 5th.
[39:00] Speaker D (unidentified): That's the 2nd of it.
[39:03] Speaker C (unidentified): This month, like, flew by. I've been very busy, but it has really come by.
[39:10] Jennifer Snow: Alright, so we have the award, and we figured out the Pickering Square piece. We know we're doing and not doing the social media. And then the event is Thursday the 8th.
[39:22] Speaker C (unidentified): So Thursday the 8th? No, can I go? I thought it was the 7th.
[39:26] Jennifer Snow: I might have said Wednesday at some point, but it was Thursday, the 8th, 5th, 7th. We'll take care of it. Tell her if you want to grab flowers.
[39:42] Speaker C (unidentified): I can. Do you want me to go to BG and Frederick's again? Sure. Yeah, they were beautiful. And I didn't know what to pick. The guy just jumped out of there and went nuts. It was gorgeous, I think.
[39:54] Jennifer Snow: We'll get a list of all the nominees, we'll invite all the nominees, and the nominators will push out that date on social. That's it. We'll do the same if you guys can. We'll put it next week. When we meet next week, it'll be about the following Thursday.
[40:10] Speaker C (unidentified): And you have the jurors, you're taking care of that.
[40:14] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, that's all happening Monday at 3. We meet at the chamber. There's only two committee members there, so that's not a meeting, right? And it's not, you know, so since it's not a meeting about the chamber, it's easier than bugging you. So I asked Sarah to participate because she doesn't have any ties, strong ties, in the way that any of these artists. And she's great. I should have started with she's great. All right. So we're all great, so that's a given, but the fact she didn't have ties to any of them. At one point I thought you were nominated, Cal, but maybe not.
[40:54] Speaker D (unidentified): I offered to help if it was limited.
[40:57] Jennifer Snow: And so then we have Jasmine Scott.
[41:03] Speaker C (unidentified): Yeah. He was very happy.
[41:06] Speaker B (unidentified): What did you get from Bangor Beautiful? I don't know.
[41:09] Jennifer Snow: They're just the Bangor Beautiful emails replying that is probably a man but it.
[41:13] Speaker B (unidentified): Could be so yeah I'll be.
[41:19] Jennifer Snow: Ladies last name is Pelletier Sharon Pelletier Sharon here okay oh S Pelletier is the email.
[41:27] Speaker D (unidentified): Yeah she's with Pelletier.
[41:29] Speaker F (unidentified): She's at the event.
[41:31] Speaker D (unidentified): Gotcha.
[41:32] Speaker E (unidentified): So that would be great. It's another job, but do we have a thank you note for the jurors, you know, thank you for having us?
[41:45] Speaker C (unidentified): I have, like, okay, I'm going to show my crazy, but I still do written thank you notes for my family members when they're saying yes. I literally have a ton of them in my closet. Like, how many are there? I can write them up very easily. Not printed, I don't have that kit, but I can at least say thank you for being a juror or something. If you tell me what to write, I can write it legitimately and make them up if you want those to touch, I think. Okay. Yeah, definitely.
[42:10] Speaker E (unidentified): You don't always have time because there are big times these days.
[42:14] Speaker B (unidentified): I know Jasmine's very good, but she's making time for this. Yeah,.
[42:20] Speaker C (unidentified): And I can give them to you on Friday, or is that too late?
[42:25] Jennifer Snow: Yeah, I'll send you an email. Friday's fine. We're going to meet Monday and we'll send them off Friday. Okay. It's a nice touch, that's about it. Anything else on anyone's mind? Anything I'm missing at the moment?
[42:42] Speaker E (unidentified): You've written your speech, of course.
[42:45] Speaker D (unidentified): No, I have not.
[42:49] Jennifer Snow: Although it was something I did last year that Nina wanted me to repeat. I don't know what it is. But, yeah, excited.
[42:58] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, this is great. Yeah I would have the award next time we meet I'll probably get it today oh I've got the press in the team I've got they sent me an invoice or a press any anywhere so do you need like a written receipt well I mean I'll submit it because I paid oh yeah need a written receipt or is it in voice okay
[43:27] Speaker G (unidentified): Well, maybe a receipt proving that the invoice was, like, satisfied, like, paid for already.
[43:34] Speaker B (unidentified): Well, what I'll do is I'll wait for the check.
[43:36] Jennifer Snow: Here's my bank name, but the bank's name of the check. And, yeah, that's it. So, yeah, we'll end by booking that.
[43:47] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, the award looks really good. Oh, you have a photo of it, obviously.
[43:50] Jennifer Snow: I sent you a photo. Yeah, you sent me a photo. I think so, too.
[43:54] Speaker B (unidentified): Yeah, they weren't able to engrave right on the pumpkin because it just didn't work out. But they put like a kind of necklace around it says October winter 2026 on it made of a piece of like stained glass that they engraved into it looks really good I think it's quirky you know
[44:15] Jennifer Snow: I'll just look at it this morning but oh okay the
[44:34] Speaker B (unidentified): Trophy is complete it's just the invoice I think Yeah, let's see if I can find it in the chat.
[44:52] Speaker G (unidentified): Question, since it's my first year living in Mayfork, for the event that we're hosting, is it something that's like ticketed? Is it just we invite members of the public? Is it just meant to be for the nominees and who they choose to invite?
[45:12] Jennifer Snow: That's a great question. It's a wide open invite. Anybody can come with ties or no ties. All about 60 or 70 there. I guess they can open up the lobby and get bigger than that. We didn't need it last year, but yeah, all of them.
[45:26] Speaker C (unidentified): It was really nice. They have a bar there. You can do drinks or not, and there was tables. You could sit around, or you could mingle and talk, and they had the food set up here, And we had the little stage type, like, well, not stage, but the little area with the game board.
[45:41] Speaker D (unidentified): I think it's great. It was really nice. I went to some other event there.
[45:45] Speaker B (unidentified): Oh, Bring Drinks, I went to there. Yeah, we started drinking those. That was pretty good. Yeah. So, Sonny, I sent that over to you. All right. So
[45:57] Speaker G (unidentified): is it something, that event something we should push out on the city Facebook, encouraging folks to join us?
[46:05] Jennifer Snow: let me get your graphic or something but yeah let's do that or if you want to i know there's
[46:29] Speaker C (unidentified): one of like me but i don't want that one There it is,
[46:36] Speaker B (unidentified): so you can see they made like a little tag on there with the copper wire for this. That's great. I think it looks really good.
[46:44] Speaker E (unidentified): Yeah, I think so too. It looks great. Does it come in a box?
[46:50] Speaker B (unidentified): I don't know, but I think what we can do is while I'm out there, I'm going to talk to them about that and try to make a nice box because they have all the stuff to make a box for it, but they didn't, you know, like that's another cost they would probably have I might be able to do it while I'm there at their gallery space.
[47:05] Speaker E (unidentified): Just because that's a nice presentation. I agree. And it keeps it protected. It keeps it protected.
[47:11] Speaker B (unidentified): I agree. It is a nice way of presenting. If we could get it in, like, a box with some shredded something and just put it there. Yeah. That would be nice. I don't think that's a problem. We can get it.
[47:25] Jennifer Snow: All right. So, I guess not much for us to do other than show up at the party.
[47:35] Speaker B (unidentified): Don't vote for that guy, he's a jerk, I don't think he'd be worth it.
